If I cannot find a way, I will make one
An old artwork, and a message for you who's feeling lost.
I drew this artwork in November 2022. At that time, I was still in law school — incredibly confused about what my future would look like. I felt like I was on the wrong path, and had been feeling that way for years. But I kept walking in everyone else’s footsteps, because what else was I supposed to do?
You know how you sometimes feel incredibly lost, because it doesn’t seem like there is a way for you in this human world? How you search so frantically for a path to follow, footsteps that match yours, only to discover that there are none?
The reason for that is actually very simple…
You’re meant to pave your own path.
I know, I know — don’t give me those frustrated eyes. I’m not telling you to build a highway, make blueprints, and get approval from the city council. In fact, fuck the city council :) you never need to explain yourself to anyone or get anyone’s approval.
I’m telling you to take one baby step in the direction your heart is pulling you. And more importantly: to lean into the not knowing. You have to follow your intuition before it makes any sense. And little by little, it’ll start making sense to you — not to everyone else, but to you.
I see so many people who don’t follow the call of their soul, because they’re waiting for someone to reveal the destination. But for you, there isn’t one — not yet.
Your soul will weave your path as you walk it. It’s a sacred collaboration between you and your becoming. Together, you’ll find the way — because together, you’ll make the way.
